Since I have added the lunch time Fit in the City Workouts to my exercise routine, I have seen truly incredible results.  This is not just a  program of the month for me, but truly a lifestyle change to become a healthier person.  I have been doing the lunch time classes for the last 15-16 weeks or so, along with morning cardio work and strength training and have made changes in my eating habits.  Being in sales and spending many days on the road (as well as the fact that I'm not getting any younger), I had to kick it up a notch to see any results.  Your Kettlebell boot camps as well as the Pilates and Yoga classes with Sonja have been amazing.

I first began to see the results on the scale, finally dropping that pesky 5 lbs I had been trying to lose for over a year.  Then I started to notice increases in my energy level in general.  To my surprise, about 2 months ago I went back down from a 36 waist (which was tight at one point) to a 34 (which is now loose).

The outward results were visible and exactly what I was looking for.  My wife also sends thanks :)  What was even more eye-opening was when I had a physical exam earlier this week and got the results back.  Compared to my last physical 2 years ago, my total cholesterol decreased by 21%, from 230 to 181.  Good cholesterol is up from 49 to 54.  Bad cholesterol is down from 123 to 86.  Triglycerides are down from 300+ to 204 (at one point they were over 400).  My ratio of good to total cholesterol improved by 28%!  My pulmonary (lung) function has also improved dramatically.  Peak lung flow (FVC) vs. that is predicted for my age (38) went from 102% to 118% of predicted flow.

While I credit the permanent changes in diet to the improvements in my cholesterol results, I can definitely credit the changes in weight, muscle, and peak lung flow to the addition of your Fit in the City boot camps to my workout routine.  Being able to drop a pants size is a credit to Sonja's core work in the Pilates and Yoga classes as well as Renee’s boot camps.  The Pilates and Yoga have dramatically improved my core strength, balance, and flexibility- and those results are now showing up on the golf course!

Thanks to Renee, Sonja, and the rest of the Fit In The City staff for continually challenging my co-workers and me to keep going and to keep trying harder.  You are an inspiration to us all, and I think you know we only complain because it's working.  The word is getting out, and the class attendance is steadily increasing as a result.  I hope we can get to the point where we have to schedule more classes because the gym is too full.  Keep up the good work!

Woodmen of the World has recently entered into a partnership with Fit in the City to provide health promotion activities to our Home Office Associates.  The group exercise classes and the wellness activities have made a big difference in our associates’ overall health and behaviors. The instructors are challenging yet very engaging.  Wellness is a strategic goal for Woodmen of the World, and we are looking forward to even greater results in the future.

In an effort to provide a convenient opportunity for effective fitness activity to our employees, Sheppard’s Business Interiors has provided onsite facility space for our employees to partner with Fit in the City for group exercise classes as a part of our Wellness program. Our employees have enjoyed the instruction, nutritional counseling, encouragement, and motivation received from the program along with the results of a greatly improved fitness level.  Participant results have created a greater awareness and interest for improved fitness within our organization.
