Let me start by saying, I am NOT a runner. I have been doing boot camp through Fit in the City on and off for 2+ years. (I have since committed to continuously staying with boot camp.) In addition, my friend and I signed up for personal training, also through Fit in the City. Right off the bat, we talked about goals, what we would like to be able to accomplish by the end of our sessions. One of our goals was to be able to run 1 mile without having to walk or stop. We are proud to report that we successfully completed and surpassed our goal. We were able to complete a 1 ¾ mile run. For me, the personal training experience was new. I enjoyed the tailored workouts. I felt like the workouts were beneficial toward what I was trying to accomplish. The trainer pushed us to give that little bit more than we thought we could. I credit reaching our goal to our trainer, especially for instilling the “can do” attitude in me. I have already committed to personal training sessions in the upcoming Fall and Winter (as those are the hardest months for me). I, like Jeni, was very happy with the results of our personal training sessions. I definitely have a love/hate relationship with running and never thought I would be able to run a mile, let alone 1 ¾ miles. I owe that success to our trainer. Without her persistence and drive I would have given up long before I did. I look forward to working with her after the summer months are over and making and achieving new goals. Without her cadence tips, I don’t think I would have made it ¼ mile! | |
